The key to answering this question is to understand that a certain amount of time must pass between these treatments to avoid potential problems. Certain problems, such as irritation, redness, or discomfort, can be caused by doing too many skin treatments consecutively too quickly.
Before a microdermabrasion treatment, it is recommended that you avoid other treatments on the area, including IPL hair removal, for at least a week before your appointment. This buffer period is to ensure that your skin fully recovers from the microdermabrasion process.
On the flip side, you should also wait 7 to 10 days before performing IPL hair removal on an area that has undergone microdermabrasion. This cautionary period is especially important for those who undergo more intensive hair removal treatments, as there may be some lingering effects on the skin after the microdermabrasion treatment.
